Operating in China since 1980 the Asia Pacific business (Shanghai headquarters) now has an arsenal of 10 plants in the Asia Pacific region, 7 of which are located in China. These focus on commercial acoustic ceilings, metal ceilings and suspension systems as well as resilient flooring. Core competencies revolve around global manufacturing standards including environmental practices, full Asia reach and the #1 global brand in multiple categories. Key projects in China include the CCTV building, Jinmao Tower, the Olympic Bird’s Nest, National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) and Expo Culture Center. There are hundreds of millions of meters of Armstrong product in place in Asia and more every day. At Armstrong the environmental footprint is a foundation stone and a differentiator. Our products in ceilings either use recycled components and/or are fully recyclable. We use more landfill bound waste than we produce. We utilize world class practices in manufacturing so that we use more landfill bound materials than we produce.
