Highlights from our 2017 Australia Day Roast

Thanks to the 150+ guests who joined us on Saturday 21 January at Kakadu to celebrate Australia Day!

After a short welcome from AustCham Shanghai and toast from the Australian Consul General in Shanghai Mr Graeme Meehan, guests were quick to dig into the delicious roast buffet prepared by our host venue Kakadu. Aussie beer and wine were also flowing all day thanks to 31Jiu and Treasury Wine Estates.

Our annual Pavlova Bake-Off was definitely a highlight of the day. Congratulations to Andy Cao from M on The Bund and Olivia Fowler who were selected by our judges as winners of the professional and homebaker division respectively! We hope you were lucky enough to taste one of the 10 delicious pavs on display!

Kids had a lot of fun thanks to our Silver Sponsor Shanghai United Family Hospital who brought colouring supplies as well as toy medical kits for the little ones who had the chance to go home with their own "Little Doctor" certificates.

Guests also had the chance to discover (and taste!) some of our Bronze Sponsors products throughout the day: many thanks to Premium Australia Foods, Shanghai Town and Country Community, Ethos World, Stahmann Farms and Flight Centre. Our band The Chairmen kept guests dancing and singing all afternoon long with classic Aussie tunes.

Thanks to your terrific support in the raffle, silent and live auctions, we were able to raise over 24,000 RMB for our CSR partner Home Sweet Home. Congrats to all the raffle winners and top bidders!
