Australian Exporters Confidence on the Rise

Australian exporters believe the outlook for their business is better than in 2015, with a majority planning to expand into new overseas markets, Australia's International Business Survey 2016 shows.

According to respondents, China is currently the most popular destination for outward investment, followed by the United States and the United Kingdom. In the case of China, strong growth or profit opportunities was the most popular motive (cited as very important by 74% of those respondents who nominated China as their first target market).

Australia’s International Business Survey Highlights Report


Australia’s International Business Survey 2016 (AIBS 2016) is the third in a series of studies of Australia's international business activity. Commissioned by the Export Council of Australia (ECA) with the support of Austrade and Efic (Export Finance and Insurance Corporation), AIBS 2016 was conducted by the University of Sydney between November 2015 and March 2016. It contains responses of 913 Australian companies from 19 different industry sectors operating in over 100 overseas markets.
