QANTAS was established in outback Queensland in 1920 and is now the second oldest commercial airline in the world. In past years, QANTAS has played a key role in the development of Australian and international aviation. The kangaroo symbol represents a proud history focused on reliability, safety, engineering excellence and customer service. The QANTAS Group operates an extensive network under its two airline brands Qantas and Jetstar serving Australia and other countries in Asia and the Pacific, the Americas, the UK, Europe and Southern Africa. In 2008, a fleet of over 220 Qantas and Jetstar aircraft carried more than 38 million passengers to over 130 destinations in 40 countries. QANTAS currently operates daily flights from Shanghai to Sydney with onward connections to the entire Qantas Trans Tasman, Domestic and Regional network, in addition Qantas operates 31 flights per week from our Hong Kong hub to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and London. Qantas recently began codeshare flights with China Eastern between Shanghai and Beijing, Xian and Chengdu. Our new A330-300 aircraft offer state of the air in-flight entertainment with video on demand in every seat and the award winning Skybed in Business Class.
