Shanghai Golden Apple bilingual school is the only authorized institution given permission to teach the official Australian curriculum WACE (Western Australia Certificate of Education) course in Shanghai. China is following Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as the fourth official WACE country. WACE, like the college entrance exam in China, is a part of TER. The scores of WACE are recognized worldwide.
WACE in Shanghai offers high school program from Year 10 to Year 12, which include courses: English as a second language; Accounting; Business; Mathematics; Mathematics Specialists; Biology; Physics; Chemistry. Students who complete WACE Year 12 not only can apply for any of 42 universities in Australia, but also have the chances to apply for top universities in U.K., U.S.A., Canada and so on.
The opening of the WACE program breaks away from the traditional Chinese method of schooling and is based on the Australian model. Performance is judged on attendance, examinations, experiments, assignments and western cultural and social knowledge.
