Returnee Talent Experience Survey

#

Is overseas experience an advantage or impediment for job hunters in Australia?

A number of Australian expatriates have told us that when they return home, it can be challenging to secure a role commensurate with the skills and experience they built offshore.

We want to learn more about your thoughts and experiences on this issue. Advance has partnered with Indeed, the world’s largest job site to gather insights into:

  • the experience of Australian expats when they return to Australia and look for their next role. Is their international experience valued by Australian companies?
  • employer and recruiter perceptions of the value placed on skills and experience gained overseas.

We would greatly value your input on this important topic by 20 May.

Please complete the 10-15 minute survey, prepared and hosted by Lonergan Research, at our request, by clicking on the link, or by copying and pasting it into your web browser. If during the survey you choose to save your responses and complete them later, please use the link that you will be sent in a reminder email to resume the survey, rather than the original survey link.

Your input will help us to develop a public white paper on the experiences of the Australian diaspora which we will share with you when it is published.

We are also collaborating with the NSW Innovation and Productivity Council (a high-level advisory council to the NSW Government) on global talent flows and will share the survey results to inform this work. Please note, the United States Studies Centre and University of Sydney will be surveying off-shore alumni, students and academics with related but distinct surveys. If you receive a survey from these organisations through their channels, please do complete as well.

If you would like to speak to someone at Advance about this research, please contact Kate Parker or +61 400729825.
