In 1999, there were only two options for Western food in Shanghai: expensive burgers in hotels or McDonald's. Variety in terms of Western food was scarce, and so was service. When Blue Horizon opened its first restaurant - serving classic Western fare and combining the kind of service you expect in a big city eatery with the atmosphere of a local neighborhood joint - it was an instant hit. That original restaurant, which evolved into KABB BISTRO BAR (www.kabbsh.com) in 2001, is still going strong and gaining new fans every year. We built on that success to found a second restaurant, opening the first blue frog bar & grill (www.bluefrog.com.cn) in 2002. These two successful brands paved the way for a family of bars and restaurants that have become the Blue Horizon Hospitality Group. Although unique in terms of brand concept, design and experience, all of our restaurants follow the same customer-centric principles we started out with back in 1999.
