Fortescue Metals Group Ltd is an ASX20 listed company. Since delivering our first iron ore shipment to Baosteel in May 2008, Fortescue has become the fourth largest participant in the seaborne iron ore market and the third largest iron ore producer in Australia. At the end of December 2012, Fortescue had cumulatively exported over 200 million tonnes (mt) of iron ore, predominantly to China. Fortescue holds 85,000 square kilometres of tenements in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, the best address for supply of seaborne iron ore to the Asian market. Fortescue has discovered over 14 billion tonnes (bt) of iron ore resources and in the last 5 years has increased its resources through exploration by 1.5 bt annually.

With over 60 customers in China, Fortescue aims to be the most competitive, reliable, trustworthy and friendly iron ore supplier in China. Fortescue is on track to produce 115 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by March 2013 from its Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mines in the Chichester Hub, and the Firetail mine at Solomon. The completion of the Kings mine at Solomon will provide a further 40 mtpa bringing total production to 155 mtp a from the end of 2013. Our long-term strategic goal is to expand beyond 155 mtpa as we consider further development opportunities on our extensive tenement holdings in the Pilbara.
