Announcing AustCham Shanghai Board of Directors 2022-2024

We are pleased to announce the results of the recent election of the AustCham Shanghai Board of Directors. The new Board was also announced during the Chamber's online Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 29th June.

We would like to thank members who took the time to vote and to all ten candidates who stood for election. AustCham Shanghai would like to congratulate the top seven candidates:

Stephanie Liu
Lead China Partner, Azure Group;
Toby Graham
General Manager China, SW Australia;
Alexandra Chu
Director and Founding Partner, ANKEN Group;
Chester Wang
Head of Corporate Finance, ANZ Bank (China);
Unice Liu
Managing Director and Partner, Baldwin Boyle Group;
Todd Pearson
Managing Director, Camel Hospitality Group; and
Joanne Wood
Chairman, Capital Eight

The Members Charter (Clause 7, Schedule B) requires a successful candidate to receive at least 10% of the total votes cast. As the Election Auditors Statement was approved at the 2022 AGM, Stephanie Liu, Toby Graham, Alexandra Chu, Chester Wang, and Unice Liu, who all achieved the minimum number of votes cast, are appointed as Non-Executive Directors for a two-year term.

Todd Pearson and Joanne Wood were unable to meet the minimum voting threshold. On the basis of election results, and the passing of the Election Auditors Statement at the 2022 AGM, the Nominations Committee has recommended, with Board approval, that Todd Pearson and Joanne Wood be appointed to the sixth and seventh positions for an interim period until the 2023 AGM.

They will join the following Non-Executive Directors on the Board who are part way through their two-year terms:

Heidi Dugan
Director and Founder, Arete Group;
Tony Zhang
Chief Representative Greater China, Port Adelaide Football Club;
Barclay Doring
Vice General Manager, Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund

We welcome these business leaders to the AustCham Shanghai Board of Directors and look forward to working with them in the year ahead.

The Chamber would also like to thank the former Board of Directors, Becky Xia and James Gathercole for their great support to the Chamber and the Australia-China business community.
