Corporate Membership

Eligibility Criteria:          
Any legally registered business, government, NGO, non-profit or other appropriate entity or its representative office registered in the mainland P.R. China subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission.

Fees: 
5,500RMB (annual fee) plus 850RMB (once-off joining fee)

Full Membership Card:   
To all local employees registering. A Corporate (or Voting) Representative (employee) nominated by the Corporate Member to act on its behalf in AustCham Shanghai matters

Requirements:              
Current valid PRC business licence required

Application Procedure

Step 1: Application

Step 2: Approval
Complete and submit the online membership application form. The application will be presented for approval by the Board of Direcots. Typically, approval is
granted 5 days from the date of receipt of the completed application form and all paperwork, such as business licenses.                               

Step 3: Payment

Step 4: Acceptance

Step 5: Package Delivery
After the application is approved by Board of Direcots, payment instruction will be sent to Nominee.     Your membership is activated once approval has been confirmed and your payment of the membership fee has been received. A new membership kit including membership card will be delivered.   

Notes on Application
Future membership application from any company whose past AustCham Shanghai membership has lapsed for any reason will proceed as for new membership applicants.  If any membership benefits are offered to long term continuing members based on number of years of membership, then length of membership will be calculated from the date since which current membership has been continuous over years (not any prior date or period).

Questions, appeals or suggestions by members or intending members in relation to any membership issue, including payment can be made to Secretariat Staff by telephone (021)6248 8301 by fax (021) 6248 5580, or by email to AustCham Shanghai on admin@austchamshanghai.com at any time.  These matters will be considered by AustCham Shanghai Membership and Marketing sub-committee in the first instance and finalised by AustCham Shanghai Board of Directors.  Decisions of the Board of Directors will be given in writing as necessary and will for any current question on payments be final. From time to time, reflecting members' suggestions and interests, AustCham Shanghai membership policy will be reviewed, and any resulting policy amendments notified promptly and clearly to all members.

Introductory Small Business Membership

Sponsored by Australian Government, Austrade

Eligibility Criteria:   
i) A small business is either a manufacturing company with fewer than 100 employees worldwide; OR
ii) A services company with either fewer than 20 employees worldwide OR less than $A5 million annual turnover worldwide (APEC/ABS definitions) and subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission

Fees:                           
3, 500RMB (annual fee) plus 850RMB (once-off joining fee)

Subsidy Available:         
Any eligible small business which is invested by an Australian Company (ABN required) may apply for a 500RMB subsidy on the first year membership fee (sponsored by Austrade)

Full Membership Card:    
Two (2) nominated employees

Restrictions:                 
Introductory Small Business Membership is limited to a period of two years after which upgrade to Corporate Membership is required (no further joining fee). Current AustCham Shanghai Corporate Members may not downgrade to join the Small Business category

Individual Membership
A membership category offered at two levels

i) Individual

Eligibility Criteria:          
Any eligible Individual subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission

Fees:                           
1200RMB (annual fee) plus 200RMB (once-off joining fee)

Membership Card          
To individual only

Restrictions:                 
This category of membership is a restricted eligibility category open to any nationality. Each case is approved on a year by year basis. Enquiries welcome. Any Applicant, at any time considered eligible for another business membership category(ies) will be requested to apply for the appropriate membership.

ii) Student/Alumni

Eligibility Criteria:          
Any full time student subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission OR any recent graduate of any tertiary studies or vocational skills institute of any type similarly subscribing.

Fees:                           
300RMB (annual fee) plus 50RMB (once-off joining fee)    

Membership Card          
To individual only

Restrictions:                 
Applicants 18yrs and over. Students will provide study program details and current full time student ID. Graduates must apply within 2 years of graduation providing proof of formal qualification. This membership is limited to a period ending 3 years after the date of formal graduation or when, through employment, an individual becomes eligible for a business membership category.
