Corporate Membership

Fees:
6,000RMB (annual fee) * plus 850RMB (once-off joining fee)

Eligibility criteria:
Any legally registered business, Government, NGO, non-profit or other appropriate entity or its representative office registered in mainland PR China subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission and strategic objectives.

Benefits:
Full Corporate Membership card benefits available to all local employees who register from each Corporate Member company. A Corporate (or Voting) Representative (employee) is designated by the Corporate Member company to act on its behalf in AustCham Shanghai matters including voting in general meetings.

Requirements:
Current valid PRC business licence required.

* Corporate Membership discount for eligible small businesses

AustCham Shanghai will provide a discount for eligible small businesses for the first two years of Corporate Membership annual fees.

Eligibility criteria for discount: A small business is defined as either a manufacturing company with fewer than 100 employees worldwide OR it is a services company with either fewer than 20 employees worldwide OR less than $A5 million annual turnover worldwide (APEC/ABS definitions) and subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission and strategic objectives.

Discount amount: 2,500RMB off the full Corporate Membership fees for the first two years of Corporate Membership.

Further Subsidy Available: Any eligible discounted small business member which is invested by an Australian Company (ABN required) may apply for a 500RMB subsidy on the first year membership fee (sponsored by Austrade)

Future membership application from any company whose past AustCham Shanghai membership has lapsed for any reason will proceed as for new membership applicants.  If any membership benefits are offered to long term continuing members based on number of years of membership, then length of membership will be calculated from the date since which current membership has been continuous over years (not any prior date or period).

Platinum Corporate Membership 

Fees:
40,000RMB (annual fee for Membership period commencing 1 April 2010)

Eligibility criteria:
Any legally registered business, Government, NGO, non-profit, or other appropriate entity or its representative office registered in mainland PR China subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission,and already an AustCham Shanghai Corporate Member.

Benefits:
Platinum Corporate Member companies receive the same membership card benefits as Corporate Members, and the additional benefits outlined on the benefits chart.

Requirements:
A valid PRC business licence required.

Maximum 12 positions currently offered. A waiting list applies.

Benefits:
Full membership card benefits offered to five nominated employees. Further Individual Membership(s) may be purchased by employees or Directors of the company.

Individual Membership
A membership category offered at two levels

i) Individual

Eligibility Criteria:          
Any eligible Individual subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission

Fees:                           
1300RMB (annual fee) plus 200RMB (once-off joining fee)

Membership Card          
To individual only

Restrictions:                 
This category of membership is a restricted eligibility category open to any nationality. Each case is approved on a year by year basis. Enquiries welcome. Any Applicant, at any time considered eligible for another business membership category(ies) will be requested to apply for the appropriate membership.

ii) Student/Alumni

Eligibility Criteria:          
Any full time student subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission OR any recent graduate of any tertiary studies or vocational skills institute of any type similarly subscribing.

Fees:                           
330RMB (annual fee) plus 50RMB (once-off joining fee)    

Membership Card          
To individual only

Restrictions:                 
Applicants 18yrs and over. Students will provide study program details and current full time student ID. Graduates must apply within 2 years of graduation providing proof of formal qualification. This membership is limited to a period ending 3 years after the date of formal graduation or when, through employment, an individual becomes eligible for a business membership category.

Restrictions:
This is an exceptional category of membership with restricted eligibility, open to all nationalities. Each case is reviewed annually.

Note: AustCham Shanghai reserves the right at any time not to accept, or not to renew any Individual Membership.

Any full time student subscribing to AustCham Shanghai's Mission OR any recent and unemployed graduate (up to two years of an Australian tertiary studies or vocational skills institute of any type).

Benefits:
Membership card benefits offered to individual only.

Restrictions:
Applicants 18 years of age and over. Students will provide study program details and current full time student identification. Graduates must apply within two years of graduation. This category of membership is limited to a period of time ending three years after the date of graduation or earlier when, through employment, an individual becomes eligible for a Corporate or Associate Membership category.
