Travelex has traded in China since November 2005 and employs in excess of 150 people. It currently buys and sells 25 plus different currencies here, operating 34 retail stores at airports in Shanghai (Pudong and Hongqiao), Beijing Capital, Qingdao Liuting, Nanjing Lukou, Tianjin Binhai, Kunming, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai Phoenix. In addition Travelex has a number of downtown stores in Beijing, Shanghai – both Puxi and Pudong - and in Xian. In early August 2012 Travelex China received Government approval to trade additional currencies at its Beijing and Shanghai stores.

Travelex currently is the only foreign exchange retailer/bank in China to trade in the following currencies:
