Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai

Han Zheng - Mayor of Shanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee (SMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Born in April 1954, Cixi, Zhenjiang Province. He started to work in 1975 and joined the CPC in 1979. Graduated from East China Normal University in 1994, he is a Master of Economics and a Senior Economist.
He successively held party secretarial posts in schools (chemical engineering), factories (chemical engineering), municipal youth league and at district levels (Luwan). He was elected as the Vice-Mayor of Shanghai and member of Party Standing Committee of the SMC in February 1998, responsible for auditing, traffic, post and telecommunication. He is also the Chairman of Shanghai Deep Water Port Project’s Steering Committee.
He is approachable and friendly. He likes dancing.
