The Commonwealth Bank of Australia Shanghai Branch is officially
open on 1st March 2010. This new Branch represents
an important milestone in their history as they extend their
presence into mainland China. Opening a new branch in a new country
takes time and has its challenges. In what is one of the

The Branch will primarily focus on developing large local
corporate customers within five target industries: Natural
Resources, Infrastructure, Transportation and Utility & Power,
and mainly target on Australian, Chinese and Hong Kong
corporate/institutional customers based in China and will work
closely with the Bank's existing partners in the region which
includes Qilu Bank, Bank of Hangzhou, First State Cinda and
BoCommLife. The Branch has the capacity to provide corporate and
institutional lending, trade finance, foreign exchange and
structured asset finance.
