Tourism Western Australia seeks a Marketing Executive

Position: Marketing Executive China/HK                   western australia
Location: Shanghai

As a statutory authority under the portfolio of the Minister for Tourism and governed by a Board of Commissioners, Tourism Western Australia is responsible for promoting Western Australia as an attractive holiday, event, convention and incentive travel destination, nationally and overseas and enhancing the tourism industry, infrastructure and product base.

Primary Function:
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Market Development Manager together with administering the general office functions of the Regional Office.

Key Result Areas and Duties

Administrative

  • Provide an administrative service to the Market Development Manager.
  • Co-ordinate and administer the general office functions of the Regional Office.
  • Co-ordinate reporting functions of the Regional Office - monthly, quarterly and annual.
  • Undertake research and prepare recommendations as requested by the Market Development Manager.

Liaison

  • Respond to requests for information and material from consumers and the travel industry.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining co-operative and favourable working relationships with consumers, the tourism industry and government representatives.

 Secretarial

  • Provide a secretarial service to the Market Development Manager.

Other

  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Market Development Manager.

Requirements of the Position (or Selection Criteria)

Essential

1. Sound experience in office administration environment.
2. Experience in setting up office procedures.
3. Analytical and problem solving skills.
4. Well developed written communication skills.
5. Able to plan and co-ordinate activities.
6. Able to work effectively with others and in a team environment.
7. Fluent in written and spoken English & Mandarin.

*Unless otherwise stated in the Job Description Form, all positions within Tourism WA require the occupant to be able to use a PC and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

Desirable:

  • 1. Qualifications in office / business administration.
  • 2. Experience in Tourism / Hospitality Industry or related field.
  • 3. Experience in retail / wholesale travel or related field.
  • 4. Language skills other than English.
