SOLD OUT: 11:11 Global Shopping Festival: Panel Discussion with Maggie Zhou
11:11 Global Shopping Festival - What's in store for Australia and New Zealand?
AustCham Shanghai and Alibaba Group (Australia and New Zealand) are delighted to invite you to a special seminar on opportunities for Australian and New Zealand companies in light of the world's biggest day of shopping.
Invented by Alibaba Group in 2009, the 11:11 Global Shopping Festival, previously called Single's Day, fast became the world's largest day of shopping. Last year Chinese consumers saw the day reach nearly USD17.8 billion in gross merchandise volume (GMV) with 657 million delivery orders made in just 24 hours. In February this year, Jack Ma also opened an office for Alibaba to better service the Australian and New Zealand markets to help companies meet the growing demand for their products by Chinese consumers.
But what does this explosive growth of e-commerce in China mean for Australian and New Zealand companies?
Special guest Maggie Zhou, Managing Director of Alibaba Group in Australia and New Zealand and an early employee of the company, will share her views on the company's strategy in Australia and New Zealand, expectations for this year's 11:11 Global Shopping Festival, and opportunities for companies amid the growth of e-commerce. Maggie's presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with key Alibaba clients participating in this year's 11:11.
