submission contact Executive Director Kate
Pollitt.
Next week, get involved or send your staff to Chamber events
including a Professional Development Series workshop on
time management on Wednesday 10 January, and a free labour law
consultation on Thursday 11 January. Save the date for our

EFIC supports
Australian SME to deliver on Chinese contract
|
 |
The Australian Government's Export Finance and Insurance
Corporation (EFIC) has recently provided financial support for
Melbourne-based automotive manufacturing supplier Innovative
Technologies 2 Pty Ltd (ITG) to deliver on a Chinese
contract.
ITG won a $1.4 million contract to manufacture and supply
production line equipment for JMC Isuzu - a joint venture between
Japan's Isuzu Motors Corp and China's Jiangling Motor Co.
(Nanchang). However, like many SMEs going through rapid growth,
ITG's working capital was stretched by the funding required for the
new contract works.
To support ITG, EFIC provided a $750,000 export working capital
guarantee to the company's bank, ANZ. ANZ was then able to lend
this amount to the company to help finance the manufacture of the
equipment. For more information on EFIC

Employment levels
predicted to remain robust in China for 2012 first quarter
|
 |
Michael Page International has released its latest Employment
Index, indicating job opportunities in China will remain positive
during the first quarter of 2012.
The Index, based on a survey of 2000 employers, showed 49 per
cent of respondents plan to increase the number of their staff. The
majority of companies (69 per cent) intending to increase staff
numbers will focus hiring activity on revenue-generating roles,
which indicates companies are looking to position themselves for
domestic business growth.
Mr Andy Bentote, Managing Director for Michael Page, Northern
and Eastern China said: "Despite economic issues elsewhere in the
world, there is positive business sentiment among companies in
China which is translating into solid recruiting intentions for the
new year."
