AustCham Shanghai thanks more than 230 fantastic members and friends who attended ANZAC Day Aussie Drinks with New Zealand's Kea community last Friday night. Almost RMB10,000 was raised for TCT Foundation for the Children of China, one of our three Corporate Social Responsibility partners for 2011-2013.

Save the date for AustCham Shanghai's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 28 June, all members are encouraged to attend.

AustCham Shanghai thanks the Australian and New Zealand Consulate-Generals in Shanghai for hosting a special dawn ANZAC Day Commemoration on 25 April.

Mark your diaries for a breakfast seminar on effective Corporate Social Responsibility programs with BlueScope Steel's Stewart Dellar and SIFE China's Norwell Coquillard on 17 May. This is geared towards all business owners and operators in China, and we welcome all members and friends to attend.

Please note AustCham Shanghai office will be closed for May holiday on Monday 30th April and Tuesday 1st May.

The International Monetary Fund's 'World Economic Outlook' released this week indicates Australia has the strongest economy in the developed world. To read the report click here.

In Australia, Prime Minister Julia Gillard and State Premiers are gearing up for their Council of Australian Governments meeting in Canberra, with national environmental reform and carbon pricing measures high on the agenda.

From China, AustCham Shanghai wishes Australian drivers Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo racing in the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix the best of luck in Shanghai this Sunday.

Next week, we welcome Bank of East Asia guest speaker Mr Roy Yu to present on the link between the RMB internationalisation and exchange rate at the Westpac office, and Kelly Services Recruitment China's Mark Hall to outline current salary trends in Tier One and Two cities on Tuesday 17 April.

AustCham Shanghai wishes our more than 400 corporate and individual members across Australia and China a very happy Easter period this week.

To commemorate ANZAC Day, the Australian and New Zealand Consulate-Generals will host a Shanghai commemoration on Wednesday 25 April. Also, the Shanghai and Beijing Tigers are encouraging Australian Football League enthusiasts to join a players and spectators 'Friendship Match' tour to Vietnam during the weekend of 21 April. Next week, key events include a seminar on the manufacturing outlook for Asia Pacific and the Yangtze River Delta region on Tuesday 10 April, and a presentation on managing threats and demands within labour disputes in China.
