Aussie Drinks New
Community Outreach Project

From Friday the 29 January 2010,
AustCham Shanghai will start a new Aussie Drinks Community Outreach
project with Shanghai Municipal Welfare Foundation for Disabled
(SMWFD) to send those from the disabled community to experience the
excitement at the Shanghai Expo 2010 Event.
This project was launched by SMWFD in December 2009 and will
support a group of people who have a positive attitude towards life
and are eager to integrate into the social world however are not
able to travel around due to physical disability and are living in
poor conditions.
All proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase Expo
tickets for the disabled who need financial support, with each
person receiving 2 tickets, one for themselves and one for their
carer.
AustCham Shanghai aims to raise funds for 400 Expo tickets
(RMB36,000). Please dig deep and help us give those less fortunate
the opportunity to visit the hype and excitement around the
Shanghai World Expo 2010 event!

Introducing the
new Transport and Logistics Chair Darren Lewis and Vice-Chair Andy
Baggott

Darren Lewis is a 20 plus year
veteran of the Logistics and Supply Chain Industry. Originally
starting as a cadet customs broker in 1989, to his current position
as an executive for Australia Post Logistics, responsible for their
joint venture with China Post, Sai Cheng Logistics, in the position
of Deputy General Manager and holds a seat on the board of
Australia Post Logistics Hong Kong.
Darren has an extensive logistics operational back ground with
experience in international freight forward, ground transportation,
aircraft chartering, warehouse design and management, IT systems,
supply chain optimization and supply chain solution design.
Andy Baggott is the General Manager of Business and Human
Resource Development for Logwin Air & Ocean China Ltd.
Presently Andy focuses his time on the development of Logwin's
business between China and Australia and in addition, designs and
manages Logwin's internal training program. By combining the two
roles, Andy is able to simultaneously develop the ambitions of the
staff and deliver quality to the clients, throughout Logwin's Air,
Ocean, Road, warehousing and logistics network in China.
Darren and Andy are revitalising the TLIWG in 2010 with a focus on
regulatory changes in the industry and staff training. They welcome
all AustCham Shanghai members from the Transport and Logistics
industries to the upcoming TLIWG meeting next week.

The 3rd AustCham Regional Forum to be held in Hong Kong from 4
-5 March 2010 is an important gathering of Australia's business
elite from 15 Chambers of Commerce around the Asia region including
Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos,
Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and
Vietnam.
