Community Outreach
Update-AustCham Shanghai Donates RMB200,000 to Disabled
Students.
|
|
| |

|
On Thursday 4 February, Kate Pollitt and Lily Sun from AustCham
Shanghai attended a donation ceremony at Sunshine Home, organised
by the Shanghai Municipal Welfare Foundation for Disabled
(SMWFD).
At the ceremony AustCham Shanghai awarded scholarships to
disabled students and students from disabled families. The awards
ceremony included a moving finger language performance by special
needs students and a guided tour of the home. The Sunshine Home
fosters a positive attitude amongst students and uses the making of
handcrafts as a method to keep students mentally active and
increase hand eye co-ordination. The students proudly gave their
handmade crafts to Kate and Lily as thanks for AustCham Shanghai's
donations.
The RMB200,000 contribution by AustCham Shanghai will ensure
that the disabled students will complete their studies and that
patients will receive better treatment and rehabilitation
opportunities.

EFIC
conducts the Global Readiness index (GRi)
|
 |
Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC), the Australian
Government's export credit agency, provides finance and insurance
solutions to help Australian exporters overcome financial barriers
when growing their businesses overseas.
Each year EFIC conducts the Global Readiness index (GRi), a
wide-ranging study of the destinations for Australian exporters and
offshore investors, their motivations and the barriers they face in
an increasingly globalised world. The 2010 EFIC GRi, which is
endorsed by Minister for Trade Simon Crean, is open online from 1
March to 31 March.
EFIC is pleased to partner with AustCham Shanghai again in this
year's GRi. As an Australian company operating in China, we
encourage you to participate in the 2010 survey and contribute your
perspective. In return, you'll receive a customised benchmark
report comparing your responses with your industry peers and
Australian businesses overall.
