AustCham Shanghai is always focused on improving membership
services and offering value-added benefits. We are currently
implementing a Membership Research Project to collect feedback on
our service delivery. Over the years we have made changes to our
membership application form and membership categories. As a first
step in this project we will ensure we have the most up to date
information with regards to our members. We will focus on meeting
different needs from different categories of members, while still
recognising that every member is unique. Staff have begun
discussions with members about how the Chamber is meeting their
needs and expectations, the range of activities offered and the
business challenges they are facing in their industry, amongst
other things.
By the end of January, over 50 existing members and 20 potential
members will be interviewed and feedback analysed. As part of this
project we will also do a market comparison. Feedback will be
shared with our members by the end of April when the project wraps
up. For further information please contact Amy Xu, Membership
Research Project Coordinator amy.xu@austchamshanghai.com

AustCham Shanghai Board Director and Deputy General Manager of Sai
Cheng Logistics, Darren Lewis, will return to Melbourne shortly to
take up a role within Australia Post Logistics. Darren has played a
pivotal role in reinvigorating the Transport and Logistics Industry
Committee and developing the Boards Strategy for 2010-11 including
scoping the new communications strategy. His wife Sarah was also a
key participant on the Great Australian Ball XV Committee. We wish
Darren, Sarah and their family well in their move.
This move leaves one vacancy on the AustCham Shanghai Board of
Directors. We encourage any Corporate Members that want to be part
of a dedicated and influential team of professionals shaping
AustCham Shanghai and implementing the 2010-2011 Strategy, to
apply. Interim appointments are decided by the Board of Directors,
not by open election and it is an excellent way to get experience
on the Board for future possible re-election. Experience with
Communications, Events and Membership will be favourably
considered.
The AustCham Shanghai Board of Directors is also currently
seeking Honorary Advisors to the Board of Directors. Honorary
Advisors provide expert advice to the Board on their area of
