Graduating with a Bachelor of Social Science from RMIT
University (majors in Organisational Psychology, Human Resource
Management and Industrial Relations), Rubina has continued her
professional development with courses in Strategic Business
Planning and Project Management.
Career Summary
Rubina was appointed as the Events and Sponsorship Manager
at AustCham Shanghai in January 2012 after working as an Event and
Sponsorship Manager for the start-up events management company, A
List Events International in Shanghai. Having been in the Events
and Hospitality Industry for the last seven years, Rubina's career
has included many positions in which she has managed small and
large scale events, overseen business process development, and
recruited and managed teams of staff.
Rubina's passion for the development of processes and
communication in alignment to business strategy, combined with her
attention to detail and strong organisational skills saw her lead
the introduction of a CRM tool and associated change management
project for The Big Group in Australia. Her prior experience spans
working in the corporate environment at Toll Logistics and owning a
Street Latin dance school in Australia.
Personal
Of Indian heritage, Rubina was born in Hong Kong and has
lived in five countries prior to coming to Shanghai in 2010 with
her husband Luc. Melbourne is where she calls home, and she revels
in its multicultural dimension. Rubina is passionate about food,
design, dance, exploring new cultures and travel. She loves
living in Shanghai and is building on her Mandarin skills, although
she finds Shanghainese very elusive!
