Kate has a Bachelor of Arts - major in Tourism Management,
from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Career Summary
Appointed Executive Director in November 2006, Kate has
several years of experience in the IT, Insurance, PR, Transport,
HR, Tourism, and Hospitality industries. In her multifaceted
career, Kate honed her sharp communication skills and the ability
to build internal/external relations and foster strong teams. She
is a client focused and result orientated leader.
Kate's career has included many positions in which she trained
and managed teams of staff, and completed projects where
negotiation and relations with internal and external providers were
crucial. She has worked extensively in event coordination,
tendering, budget management and presentations both internally and
on the client side.
Kate has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, working
for both London Transport (the executive arm of the Greater London
Authority) in media relations and Austravel's London head office,
where she promoted Australia and its culture. From her experiences
there, she is passionate about promoting Australia not only as a
destination, but also as a resource for business solutions.
Personal
Kate was born in Sydney, Australia, and has family
connections in Melbourne and Adelaide. Kate is married and came
with her husband to Shanghai, who is an Executive Chef in
Shanghai. Kate is passionate about food, wine, Asia and
exploring new cultures.
