Emily has a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts
(extended major Economics) from the University of Queensland.
Career Summary
Emily joined AustCham Shanghai in 2011 after spending four years
with the Queensland Government's media and communications unit in
Brisbane. Most recently she worked on a project team managing
marketing and communications associated with the State's
participation at Shanghai World Expo 2010.
With a tertiary background in journalism, Emily initially
trained as a reporter with Seven News in Brisbane before working
for the station's weekend sports team. Her interest in China began
while completing a short contract with the Beijing 2008 Olympic
Games Organising Committee's media operations unit.
Personal
Emily was born in regional Victoria and grew up in Malaysia,
Perth and Brisbane. She has family connections in South Australia
and Queensland.
