Aussie Drinks is a weekly gathering of people who are interested in business networking and meeting socially, organized by AustCham Shanghai. Aussie Drinks regularly attracts over 60 people each week.

Aussie Drinks provides members, their guests and casual visitors with the opportunity to meet in a relaxed environment and enjoy sponsored beverages and a fantastic bar menu. It operates on a non-profit, non-partisan basis and the proceeds of Aussie Drinks are regularly donated to community outreach activities within China. This is made possible by the support of generous long term sponsors.

Objectives
The objective of Aussie Drinks are to:
- Provide an environment in which people can conduct business networking and meet socially every Friday evening and occasionally at other times.
- Provide a means of outreach to the community to attract and nurture participation in AustCham Shanghai activities, especially for those who do not have the opportunity to join AustCham Shanghai.
- Ensure that every Aussie Drinks event provides value for money in terms of the costs and quality of the venue, food, beverages and prizes.
- Support worthy charities in the Peoples Republic of China via the AustCham Shanghai community outreach programs.
Membership criteria
All employees of Corporate and Associate Corporate members, two employees of Small Business Members and Individual/Alumni Members are eligible to register for an AustCham Shanghai membership card giving the bearer complimentary access to Aussie Drinks.
The Australian Consul General and his/her spouse of the time is granted honorary membership for the term of their office.
Le Royal Meridien Shanghai hotel guests are granted honorary membership for the term of their stay in the hotel.

Entry rules and security requirements
Any person who has attained the age of 18 years or more may attend an Aussie Drinks event, either by being a paid up AustCham Shanghai member, honorary member or by paying the entry fee applicable at the time, provided that they comply with:
- Aussie Drinks' dress code requirement which is “smart casual”.
- The venue's entry rules applicable at the time.
- Entry rules specified by the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) for health and/or security purposes.
Aussie Drinks' policy is to fully support and cooperate with the security requirements of the PRC in the interests of the health and safety of those attending the event.
Subject to the laws of the PRC permitting children to be in the Aussie Drinks venue, children may enter an Aussie Drinks event if they are accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
Aussie Drinks does not accept any liability whatsoever for inconvenience or loss resulting directly or indirectly from the cancellation or alteration to the format or benefits of an ABC event.
If the number of persons in the venue reaches or exceeds its capacity, the venue management and/or Aussie Drinks project team member on duty may refuse entry without accepting any liability whatsoever for inconvenience or loss resulting directly or indirectly from the refusal.
